Below is an Excerpt from the upcoming book: “California’s Next Generation” …..
It may be hard to believe that the majority of the American population has such strong feelings against California specifically that it would bias the nation media so much, but the fact is that California is seen as different, and not in a good way.
“The media portray California as a noir fantasyland of overcrowded schools, perpetual droughts, celebrity breakdowns, illegal immigration, hellish congestion and general malaise, captured in headlines like ‘Meltdown on the Ocean’ and ‘California’s wipeout economy’ and ‘Will California become America’s first failed state?’…the Krazy-Kalifornia criticism is likely to continue regardless of the facts”

Americans prefer to move to Arizona or Nevada, rather than move to California, according to the US Census in 2000. Additionally Forbes magazine in 2012, printed an article showing the migration patterns of Americas, it noted that Americans are more likely to travel to any other state than to move to California. Over a decade long period, with observations taken before and after the global recession hit, California was still not popular with America in comparison to other states, for travel and migration. See California’s Next Century 2.0.

Pat Tillman was a professional football player who turned down a chance to play professional football so that he could enlist in the army to defend his country, following the 911 attacks. Tillman was playing for a Arizona university when he enlisted in the Army. He was the only professional athlete in all of America willing to do this.
The media, across America, widely reported that Tillman was from Arizona, even months into the story, and never really reported very much at all, that Tillman was raised in California, and that he had very California ideas about the world. Media commentators even said “they refused to believe that”, when it was brought up that Tillman was a Californian and had views that were typical for California, but not for America.
America would not believe that someone from California could be a patriot for America. Even when presented with the evidence, this was not reported. Rather it was reported that Arizona was where Tillman was from.
